Bearcats Post Two NCAA Top-Ten Performances at GVSU Big Meet

RESULTS

Cameron James, LaTia Jefferson post two lifetime-best performances to win and finish runner up in their respective events, each moving into the top-ten in the NCAA this past weekend at the Grand Valley State Big Meet. Cameron James won with a time of 6.77 seconds in the invitational finals improving his provisional standard and moving into the top of the GLVC while LaTia jumped to a distance of 12.12 meters, first among collegians improving her standard. CJ also finished with a personal best in the 200m dash with a time of 21.98.

Jordon Henderson finished 8th in the 60m Dash while Blake DeLong came in 13th with a provisional qualifying time of 4:11.62. Blake finished in 3rd in the 3,000m with a time of 8:26.88, both a provisional standard and a personal best.

Several more personal bests were set including Megan Doty's performance of the 3k where she bested her indoor school record to 10:17.55. Her 5k time on Friday night was a top-5 all-time performance for the Bearcats as she finished 16 seconds ahead of her personal best with a time of 18:13.83. Lynn Ford won the Saturday 60mH with a time of 9.10 shattering her previous personal best and moving her up in the conference rankings. Jessica Gerber set a new personal best in the Women's Shot Put, breaking 10m for the first time.
