(KENOSHA, Wis., Oct. 11)—The McKendree University women's cross country team brought home 13
th place Saturday at the Lucian Rosa Invitational hosted Saturday morning by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Bearcats were running in a 20-team field at the Rosa Invitational. Northern Michigan University won the team title, followed by Saginaw Valley State University in second place and Wayne State University in third.
A pair of McKendree runners placed among the top finishers at the event. Freshman
Karyn Paisley (Macomb, IL/Macomb) led the way for the Bearcats as she captured 24
th place. Paisley was clocked in a time of 18:43.2. Sophomore
Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) turned in the other top effort for McKendree. Johnson was 68
th overall with an time of 19:30.3
McKendree will race again on Oct. 25 at the Southern Indiana Regional Preview in Evansville, Ind. The women's event will start at 10:30 a.m.
