(ROMEOVILLE, Ill., Nov. 8)—The McKendree University women's cross country team raced to an 11
th place finish Saturday at the 2014 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships held Saturday in Romeoville, Ill. Lewis University served as the host of the meet.
The Bearcats had a team score of 295 in the six-kilometer race. The University of Southern Indiana captured its fourth consecutive GLVC championship by winning the event with 41 points, followed by runner-up and host Lewis with 85 points.
Senior
Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) led the way for McKendree in the GLVC Championships by placing 23
rd overall. Inyart covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:51.02. Sophomore
Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) was next for the Bearcats in 50
th place with an effort of 23:53.30.
This marked the third year that McKendree has competed in the GLVC Cross Country Championships. The Midwest Regional is slated to be run on Saturday, Nov. 22 in Evansville, Ind.
