(EVANSVILLE, Ind., Nov. 22)—The McKendree University women's cross country team saw its season come to an end Saturday at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regionals hosted by the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Ind.
The Bearcats had four runners represented in the field of 211 participants. Senior
Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) turned in a memorable performance in her final cross country race for McKendree. Inyart established a new six-kilometer record for the Bearcats as she covered the course in a time of 21:59.44. She missed qualification for the NCAA Cross Country Championships by just 12 seconds on Saturday.
Sophomore
Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) also grabbed a top-100 performance as she took 74
th place overall with a time of 22:59.38. Senior
Christine Cunningham (St. Jacob, IL/Triad) closed out her McKendree cross country career with a time of 23:42.24 over the course, while freshman
Cheyanne Pinkstaff (Lebanon, IL/Lebanon) was clocked in a time of 26:04.47.
Grand Valley State University won the team championship, followed by Hillsdale College and Wayne State University in the top three.
