FINAL RESULTS
(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 8)—The McKendree University men's track and field team enjoyed a productive day on Friday in hosting the McKendree Early Bird Meet on the campus of Principia College in Elsah, Ill.
The Bearcats had a total of 11 student-athletes who turned in top-five performances at the day-long meet. There were a total of five individual champions from the event for McKendree, three of which came in field events. Freshman
Alex McCrite (Tamms, IL/Egyptian) narrowly missed an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in winning the high jump. McCrite cleared a height of 1.95 meters. He also took second place in the long jump with a leap of 6.90 meters.
Sophomore
Kyle Kleeman (Carlinville, IL/Carlinville) edged McCrite with a distance of 6.92 meters to win the long jump. Kleeman also finished fifth in the high jump at 1.75 meters. Freshman
Ryan Pearce (Villa Grove, IL/Villa Grove) brought home top honors in the shot put with a throw of 14.40 meters as freshman
Harry Uyehara (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) was next in second place at 12.23 meters. Freshman Deonte Andreson rounded out the field event top finishers for the Bearcats as he took fifth place in the long jump at 6.20 meters.
On the track, freshman
Ronnie Drummond (New Baden, IL/Wesclin) captured first place in the 60-meters hurdles with a winning effort of 9.01 seconds. Sophomore
Duane Cargill (Nassau, Bahamas/Liberty Christian Academy) registered the Bearcats' other first-place finish as he took the 600-meter run in a time of 1:25.88.
Junior
Donovan Friscia (Jacksonville, FL/Bartram Trail) was the lone McKendree athlete to hit a provisional qualifying mark in Friday's meet. Friscia took second place in the 60-meter dash finals as he crossed the finish line in 6.90 seconds. Friscia also grabbed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.90 seconds, while freshman
Alexis Palmer (Parkland, FL/Nova) was close behind in third at 23.27 seconds.
Junior
Moses Randich (Eldoret, Kenya/Chebiemit School) brought home third place in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:27.18, and freshman
Benjamin Richter (Troy, IL/Triad) added a fourth-place showing in the 3,000-meter run in 9:07.91.
In the 4 x 400-meter relay, McKendree won the race with a final time of 3:31.49. Drummond and Richter were joined by junior
Cameron Harsey (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) and freshman
Brandon Hokeness (Okawville, IL/Okawville) to form the winning quartet in the event.
McKendree will return to the track Jan. 16 at the Illiana Invitational, which will be hosted by Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill.
