(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 15)—The McKendree University men's track and field team participated in its final regular-season indoor meet of the 2014-15 season over the weekend at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet in Allendale, Mich.
In Friday's first day of action, junior
Cameron James (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) had a successful defense of his title in the 60-meter dash at the Big Meet. James posted a time of 6.99 in the preliminary heat, then shaved that mark down to 6.79 seconds in the finals.
Junior
Donovan Friscia (Jacksonville, FL/Bartram Trail) collected a personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.24 seconds. In Saturday's 400-meter dash, freshman
Alexis Palmer (Parkland, FL/Nova) grabbed a new PR in the event when he crossed the finish line in 50.79 seconds.
The McKendree 4 x 400-meter relay excelled as well, notching a time of 3:24.22. Palmer was joined on the relay team by junior
Moses Randich (Eldoret, Kenya/Chebiemit School), sophomore
Grayson Horton (Crest Hill, IL/Joliet Catholic) and freshman
Christopher Jackson (Belleville, IL/Belleville West).
The Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships will be the next meet for McKendree. The two-day event will take place Feb. 28-March 1 in Indianapolis, Ind.
