(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 28)—The McKendree University women's indoor track and field team completed day one action at the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships Saturday evening in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
The highlight of the first day of action at the conference meet came courtesy of the Bearcats' distance medley relay team. The quartet of seniors Christine Cunningham (St. Jacob, IL/Triad) and Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East), junior Christine Ackermann (Aschaffenburg, Bavaria/Dalberg-Gymnasium) and sophomore Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) combined to break the program record in the event while taking fourth place in the race. McKendree covered the distance in a time of 12:32.61, breaking the previous mark of 12:54.08 set back in February 2014 at the Indiana Relays.
 
With five points in the first day of GLVC competition, McKendree sits in 10^th place overall. The 2015 GLVC Indoor Championships will conclude on Sunday.
