(LEBANON, Ill., March 1)—The McKendree University women's indoor track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships on Sunday by posting a 10
th place team finish. The two-day event was hosted at the University of Indianapolis.
The Bearcats collected 20 points at the meet, a total that was bolstered by top finishes from four different individuals on Sunday. McKendree had its strongest performance in the triple jump, where two Bearcats registered points. Freshman
Mollie Bowman (Sullivan, IL/Sullivan) grabbed fifth place in the event with a leap of 10.87 meters, while freshman
Asaiah Hooks (Goodyear, AZ/Agua Fria) was right behind in sixth place at 10.41 meters.
Sophomore
Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) notched the highest overall finish for a McKendree student-athlete with her fourth-place showing in the 800-meter run. Johnson crossed the finish line in a final time of 2:20.03. Senior
Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) rounded out the list of top individual finishers for the Bearcats with sixth place in the 3,000-meter run. Inyart was clocked in a time of 10:27.74.
On Saturday, McKendree received a fourth place effort from its distance medley relay team. The unit set a new program record with its final time of 12:32.61.
