(LEBANON, Ill., April 5)—The McKendree University women's track and field team turned in seven top-five performances Saturday at the Greenville College Select Meet.
As a team, McKendree finished fourth at the meet with a total of 32 points. A total of 11 teams were credited with points at the Greenville Select Meet.
Senior
Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) highlighted the list for the Bearcats by winning the 5,000-meter run. Inyart crossed the finish line in a final time of 17:54.03. Just last week, Inyart hit an NCAA qualifying mark in the 10,000-meter run at the Washington University Invitational.
In sprints, freshman
Jayda Hill (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) grabbed fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.71 seconds. Sophomore
Nicole Dentzman (Springfield, IL/Lanphier) placed fourth in the 200-meter with an effort of 26.46 seconds. In the 100-meter hurdles, sophomore
Melissa Calcara (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) posted a time of 15.18 seconds, which was good for fifth place at Greenville.
Freshman Halle Davoe was third overall in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.50 meters. Freshman
Ciara Jones (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) nabbed fifth place in the long jump with a distance of 5.32 meters.
The Bearcats' 4 x 400-meter relay team finished fourth overall at the meet with a final time of 4:08.72. Dentzman was joined by junior
Christine Ackermann (Aschaffenburg, Bavaria/Dalberg-Gymnasium) and sophomores
Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) and
Kaitlyn Schutt (Benton, IL/Benton) on the 4 x 400-meter squad.
McKendree will return to action on April 11 at the Billiken Invitational hosted by Saint Louis University.
