(LEBANON, Ill., March 1) – McKendree University sophomores DeMontez McCray (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) and Quincy McSweeney (Eureka, IL/Eureka) have qualified for and will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships March 9-11 in Birmingham, AL.

The Championships are hosted by the University of Alabama-Huntsville at the Birmingham CrossPlex as part of the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships Winter Festival. McCray is slated to compete in the 200-meter in which he currently ranks fourth in the nation with a time of 21.26 and looks to improve upon his seventh place finish at the championships last season. The prelims for the 200-meter begin at 5:30 p.m. on Mar. 10 with the top eight times qualifying for the finals heat on Mar. 11 at 4:30 p.m.

McSweeney will make her first trip to the Indoor Championships and is set to race in the 800-meter, where she ranks sixth with a time of 2:10.16. The prelim for the 800-meter begin at 5:35 p.m. on Mar. 9 with the top eight times qualifying for the finals heat on Mar. 11 at 4 p.m.

McKendree wrapped up team competition last weekend at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships with both the men and women's teams posting program high fourth place finishes.
