(LEBANON, Ill., March 1) – McKendree University sophomores
DeMontez McCray (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) and
Quincy McSweeney (Eureka, IL/Eureka) have qualified for and will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships March 9-11 in Birmingham, AL.
The Championships are hosted by the University of Alabama-Huntsville at the Birmingham CrossPlex as part of the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships Winter Festival. The complete list of qualifiers is available at

McCray is slated to compete in the 200-meter in which he currently ranks fourth in the nation with a time of 21.26 and looks to improve upon his seventh place finish at the championships last season. The prelims for the 200-meter begin at 5:30 p.m. on Mar. 10 with the top eight times qualifying for the finals heat on Mar. 11 at 4:30 p.m.
McSweeney will make her first trip to the Indoor Championships and is set to race in the 800-meter, where she ranks sixth with a time of 2:10.16. The prelim for the 800-meter begin at 5:35 p.m. on Mar. 9 with the top eight times qualifying for the finals heat on Mar. 11 at 4 p.m.
McKendree wrapped up team competition last weekend at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships with both the men and women's teams posting program high fourth place finishes.
