(Lebanon, Ill., Dec. 13) – McKendree University sophomore DeMontez McCray picked up his fourth career Great Lakes Valley Conference Track Athlete of the Week honor Tuesday afternoon as it was announced by the league office.

McCray, who has earned the award back to back weeks placed sixth at the Crimison & Gold Invitational after hitting a NCAA Provisional qualifying time of 48.52 seconds in the 400-meters, which ranks first in the GLVC this season and eighth Division II. The time marked a new personal best for McCray and his first ever 400-meter NCAA Provisional standard in the indoor season.

McCray picked up weekly honors twice last season on Nov. 16 and Feb. 10 before earning the distinction the past two weeks.

The Bearcats head into the semester break with three meets under their belt and won't return to the track until January.
