(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 16) — The McKendree University men's track and field team will compete in its final meet of the season Friday, before the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships, which begin Feb. 25. The Bearcats travel to Jacksonville, IL for a meet hosted by Illinois College.

Senior Donovan Friscia (Jacksonville, FL/Bartram Trail) will kick things off in the 60-meter where he holds the top time in the GLVC this season at 6.85 seconds. Three other Bearcats will compete in the 60-meter for McKendree including junior Kevin Witcik (Machesney Park, IL/Harlem) who sits fourth in the conference with a time of 6.95 seconds.

Friscia and Witcik will also race in the 200-meter, joined by sophomore Demontez McCray (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) who holds the top time in the conference at 21.60 seconds.
Sophomore Andrew Gardwine will run in the 400-meter along with freshman Eddie Sparks (Troy, IL/Triad), Isaiah Ignacio (Belleville, IL/Mascoutah), and sophomore Gabe Silva (Lebanon, IL/Lebanon).

Gardewine will also run in the 4x400-meter relay along with Silva, and sophomore Tyler Johnson (South Holland, IL/St. Rita) and Trevor White (Highland, IL/Highland).

White is also set to compete in the 800-meter along with fellow sophomore Ryan Krause (Troy, IL/Triad).

In the field sophomore, Monte Wolke (Sigel, IL/Cumberland) will take aim in the pole vault where he ranks in the top ten of the GLVC this season with a vault of 4.38-meters.

Junior Harry Uyehara (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) will compete with freshman Kyle Hostetter (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) in both the shot put and the weight throw.  

Sophomore Jacob Troutman (Flossmoor, IL/Homewood-Flossmoor) will compete in three events for the Bearcats, including the long jump, triple jump, and the high jump. Freshman Ethan Snow (Columbia, IL/Columbia) and Os Moore (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) will join Troutman, as Snow is set to compete in the long jump and high jump, while Moore is entered in the long jump and triple jump.
