Facilities:                               

Mel Eide Stadium is an 8 lane track.  Only rubber soled shoes or shoes with spikes not exceeding ¼ inch length will be permitted.  The shot and discus areas are concrete, so rubber soled shoes only may be worn.  No tape or scratch marks of any kind will be allowed.  Chalk, Bean bags or half tennis balls may be used.

Areas for athletes: Locker facilities will NOT be provided. No one except for officials, coaches, and competitors will be allowed to enter the track area.  Camps will be permitted on the NE side of the stadium, in the visitor bleachers or near the discus.  Please have your teams enter through the NE gate (closest to the tennis courts) of the stadium. Team camps can be set up in either bleachers or tents can be put up outside the stadium. (the easiest area is along the west side)               

Admission: Spectator admission is free.

Trainer: A certified trainer will be on site

Concessions: There will be concessions available at the south end of the track.  

Exhibition 1600: Open to ANY runner, spectator, or coach. This will be unscored and untimed, you are responsible for your own times or own athletes times.

Field Events: The order of events is enclosed in the packet.  The Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus will be 4 final Jumps only.  Triple Jump will follow Long Jump.  

Scoring/ Awards: Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all individual events.  Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all relay events. The 1st – 3rd place teams will receive a plaque.  Varsity athletes finishing 1st-8th will receive medals.  Frosh/Soph 1st-8th will receive medals

Timing: We will have FAT Timing this year, please help us by keeping your athletes away from the finish line during the entire meet. Thank you.

Participating Teams: Barrington, Fremd, Glenbrook North, Grant, Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Maine South, Carmel, Hoffman Estates, Lakes Community, Mundelein, Vernon Hills

Order of Events

*****Field Events will begin at 4:45 p.m.*****

Long Jump – 4 attemps, No Finals

High Jump – Varsity, followed by Frosh/Soph.

Triple Jump – 4 attempts, no Finals, and it follows the Long Jump.

*Long, worst to best, triple, best to worst (2 flights each, 6 alive 2 jumps)

Shot Put – 4 attempts no finals.  Frosh/Soph followed by Varsity.

 Discus – 4 attempts no finals. Varsity followed by Frosh/Soph.

*Throws will be Discus worst to best and shot, best to worst.

Pole Vault –Pole Vault Varsity first. We will try to start Varsity at 4:45. The runway will be open for warm-ups 20 minutes prior to the start of each level. (Varsity and Frosh-Soph start may be switched based on weather.) Starting heights TBD on site.
