SCHEDULE:
9:15 am Coaches Meeting at Finish line
10:00 am Girls’ Varsity
11:00 am Boys’ Varsity
11:45 am Awards Ceremony
We will run on this time schedule. Please have your team on the line 10-15 minutes prior to the race for pre-race inspection.
COURSE:
Girls Distance is 3.0 Miles
Boys Distance is 3.0 Miles
COURSE TOURS: Course tours can be any time before 9:50 am the day of the race. Course maps are attached. No “unofficial race” can be run on the course after the varsity boys’ race.
FINISH: A chute will be used with the mouth of the chute being the finish line. Please advise runners where finish line is.
SCORING/ENTRIES: Chip timing and scoring will be done by WA Timing. All athletes will be assigned a bib number that is to be worn as high as possible on the uniform and one shoe will be chipped. Please make sure athletes are wearing the correct chips. Also we will video tape the races.
STARTING LINE WARNINGS:
Starting line assignments will be made before race day by the meet manager. An air horn will be used to issue these warnings.
Ten Minutes - Teams should report to the starting line.
Five Minutes - Sweat clothes off upon starter’s orders.
One Minute - Runners should be prepared to race.
The starter will inform the runners when thirty (30) seconds remain, when fifteen (15) seconds remain. The starter will fire a pistol when it is determined that everyone is still and ready. There will be no verbal commands.
DRESSING: Please dress at home and come ready to run.
RESTROOMS: Port –a- Potties will be available at different locations throughout the course.
CONCESSIONS: The Fox Valley Park District will be operating a concession stand.
T-SHIRTS: Meet T-shirts will be available for purchase
MEDICAL AID: An athletic trainer and an ambulance will be in attendance.
Team Camps: Team camps can be place along the outfield baseball fence.
BUSSES: Bus drop off will be at the tent area on the north end of the facility, just beyond the fence of the softball fields. Enter off of Rt. 30 near the Montgomery Police Station and follow the path to the north. Bus parking will be at Splash Country swimming complex on Barnes Road. Buses may exit Stuart to the north on Jericho, then turn left at the dead end at Barnes Road. Car parking will be available throughout the Stuart Complex in any lot. (see attached maps)
COURSE RULES: Marshals will be in place around the course and will be instructed to enforce all rules pertaining to sportsmanship. All coaches, runners and spectators must remain outside the roped areas – and should obey caution regarding obstruction issued by a course marshal.
ADVANCEMENT: In both the girls and boys races, the top five (5) placing teams and the first seven (7) individual finishers who are not members of the qualifying teams will advance to the IHSA State Finals.
AWARDS: Medals will be presented to the top ten (10) finishers and a plaque will be presented to the first place team in each race. A brief ceremony will be conducted by the finish line.
RESULTS: Printed results will be available to the coaches at the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony.
