Wheaton North High School - Wheaton, IL -- WNHS Indoor Track




The Wheaton North Girl’s Track team is excited to welcome Glenbard South, Metea Valley, Wheaton Academy, and St. Charles North for a single level indoor track meet on Saturday, February 13th, 2016.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.  Locker rooms will not be available, so please come dressed to compete.  Team camps will be in the east hallway next to the field house. 

The facility is a 5-lane, 9 laps to the mile track, with a sixth lane for the 55 dash and hurdles.  The surface is rubberized but spike inserts are not allowed.  Plastic bottoms may be slippery around the curves and not recommended.  Flats must be worn in the pole vault.  Starting blocks will be provided.

Field Events will begin at 9:00 am.  All levels of pole vault and high jump will be combined.  Frosh/Soph will precede varsity in all other field events.  Shot putters, long, and triple jumpers will get 3 efforts.  Triple jump will begin 15 minutes after the conclusion of the long jump.

Running events will begin at 9:30 using the following order.

The meet will be contested as one level.  The fastest heat will go first followed by all other competitors. There is no limit to the number of athletes each team can place in an event, but athletes are limited to a maximum of 4 events per IHSA rules.

 

 

 

 

Wheaton North Field House - Helpful Information

Length is 177.8 m which equals 9 laps for the 1600 m  (mondo surface)

No gum, food, or drink in the field house

NO SPIKES ! FLATS ONLY!

Make your team Camps in the hallway by where athletes will enter the field house.

Starting lines are labeled in lane 2

For the 55 High Hurdles, the athletes will run hurdles not lanes.  In other words, the flight of hurdles represent the athletes lane.

Please have athletes enter and exit through the north east corner door into the hallway.

Please clean up your camps when the meet is over.
