Normal West Girls Recap

Wednesday, March 12 2014 - Normal West Girls Indoor Invite

The ladies went down to Illinois Wesleyan last night for an indoor meet hosted by Normal West. We competed in several events and had some excellent performances to show for it. In the field events Miranda Reeves had a season PR in shot, adding a few inches, and Taylor Rarick pushed the shot 28'7" for a season PR. In the long jump, Lauren Wilson added seven inches to her lifetime PR, jumping 13'8.5". Gracie Feeney made her high school debut in long jump with a 13'1" effort. EPG fielded a pair of freshmen high jumpers, Lauren Hoselton and Courtney Cobbley who cleared 4'0" and 4'2" respectively, despite only half a day practice in the event. In triple jump, Jen Ehresman set a lifetime PR with her 28'+ jump, well on her way to her season goal of 30'. On the track, EPG also set some PRs. Gracie Feeney and Rebekah Ehresman packed a speedy one-two punch for the Titans, both making consolation finals and running times of 10.64 and 10.74. Those times may qualify them for the indoor state meet, Illinois Top Times to be held on March 28. See www.illinoistoptimes.com for more information. The 4x2s saw the controlled chaos that is indoor rolling exchanges, and managed some decent times as well. Maddie Morrison took two seconds off her 400 time from four days ago, running a 1:09 to win her heat, and Rebekah Ehresman ran a 29.84 to pull within two seconds of the EPG record in the 200.
