Ludy and Demarb Bring Home Medals From Plainfield

Saturday, March 15 2014 - Plainfield North Indoor Invitational

EPGTF distance runners Jacob Ludy and Tyler Demarb have been putting in miles all winter long. As a result, they were given the opportunity to face some 2A and 3A competition at Plainfield North this past weekend. Their hard work throughout the winter showed as they were both able to post great times and bring home some medals as well. Ludy went out smart staying in the lead pack for the first 8 laps on the tight 180 meter indoor track. He looked confident and relaxed as he took the lead and went through the mile in 5:04. He pulled away substantially from the pack and cruised solo to a 10:13, lapping the majority of the field and getting a huge PR.tyler Demarb got boxed in early in the race but was able to catch the pack by the mile mark, going through at a 5:09. He maintained 2nd place for the majority of the second mile before getting out kicked in the last couple laps. He held on for 3rd place and Big PR of 10:31. Ludy and Demarb are now 2nd and 4th on the All-Time list for the 3200 and 1st and 2nd on the post-consolidation list. They also have a chance to qualify for the Illinois Prep Top Times Indoor Championship on March 28th at the Shirk Center.
