Plains Girls Finish in 3rd at Charleston Invite and compete at Jersey Winter Thaw

Saturday, March 12 2016 - Jersey Winter Thaw


The Pleasant Plains Girl’s Track & Field Team participated in the Charleston High School Indoor Invite at Eastern Illinois University this past Saturday, March 12th. The girls placed third overall as a team among the 36 teams competing at the Invite. 
 
St. Joe-Ogden won the meet with 71 points, followed by Newton with 48 and Plains with 40.
 
Meet highlights included:
 
Hope Tewes, 1st place, High Jump
Kortney Klockenga, 3rd place, 60 Meter Dash
Alli Morley, 5th place, 200 Meter Dash
4x200 Relay of Lauren Feagans, Alli Morley, Lauryn Leonard and Hope Tewes, 3rd place
4x400 Relay of Stephanie Race, Carolyn Nika, Lauren Feagans and Ali Pankey, 3rd place
Amber Clouser, 4th place, Long Jump
Amber Clouser, 6th place, Triple Jump
 
Several members of the Plains Girl’s Track & Field Team competed at the Jersey Indoor Winter Thaw at Principia College this past Saturday as well. Highlights include:
 
Eniola Babington, 60 Meter Dash, 9th place overall and 12th place in the 200 Meter Dash
4x200 Relay of Baylee Vaughn, Babington, Lindsey Hauer and Molly Smarjesse, 8th place
4x400 Relay of Sarah Schultz, Carley Hamilton, Laura Hauer and Gabi Moberly, 10th place
Baylee Vaughn placed 11th overall in the Long Jump
Sarah Schultz placed 12th overall in the 400 Meter Run
