Rice Relays Wrap Up

On Friday, the Track & Field team hosted the 14th Annual 'Rice Relays.' The Crusaders outscored second place St. Laurence 120-109 to win the team championship capturing first place in seven of eighteen events. The meet got off to a great start with the 4x800 team of Joey Bowes, Charley Duggan, Charlie Walsh, & Sean McNally taking first. Senior Louie Conn won gold in both the shot & discus and also anchored the Crusaders to a come from behind victory in the big man relay along with Ryan Kirchman, Collin Rice, & Joe Spaitis. Mikey Corcoran won the 800m running a lifetime best. The top athlete of the meet was senior Nehemiah Ray who scored 28 points. Ray was a double champion in both the 400m & 200m and took 2nd in the 100m. Marcus Kennedy scored in 3 events placing 2nd in the high jump, 4th in the long jump, & 6th in the triple jump. Trey Pierce, Rice, & Spaitis picked up big points in the discus placing 3rd, 4th, & 5th.  

 
This Thursday the frosh-soph team will travel to Marmion for the Catholic League Championship, while the varsity competes on Friday at Lockport.
