CCL Championships Wrap Up

Monday, October 17 2022 - Chicago Catholic League Championships


On Saturday, the cross country team competed in the Catholic League Championship at Lewis University. The freshmen team placed 5th overall. Andrew Straley was the top performer taking 3rd. Zach Zajac had his best race of the season improving by over a minute! The sophomore race produced three great efforts. Gavin O'Connor led the entire way and was the individual champion besting second place by over 40 seconds! Brian Sheehan placed 13th and Eamon Roache was 23rd. In the varsity race, Charley Duggan earned All-Catholic League honors finishing 12th, just .1 seconds from 9th. Sam Porras closed his season with a great race knocking over a minute off his best time. This Saturday, the team will compete in the IHSA 2A Marist Regional at Midlothian Meadows. The Crusaders can use the support of the Crusader Crazies as they will be shooting for their 4th title in the last five years. Race time is 1:15pm.
