The Spartans compete at the Gus Scott Invitational.

Sunday, April 15 2018 - Gus Scott Invitational


This past cold and blustery Friday, the Varsity Spartans traveled to Naperville North to compete in the Gus Scott Invitational.  The fact that it was cold did not diminish the great efforts shown by the Spartans in their respective events.  This meet is an ABC meet, which gives three individuals a chance to earn 1st place awards in each level.  The Spartans had several champions on the evening.  They were:

Amiri Buchanan – Shot Put 52’6.5” & Discus 139’11”

Sir Muhammad – Long Jump (C~) 18’7.5” & Triple Jump (B) 39’3”

Daytwone Burge –Long Jump (A) 20’

Jayden Green – (C~) 100m  11.87

Chris Kerwin – High Jump (A) 5’8”

Greg Guillen – (A) Pole Vault 10’

Adair Viramontes – (B) Pole Vault 8’6”

Enoch Antwi – (C~) Triple Jump 41’11” (new meet record for C flight)

4 x 200m relay ( Joe Otchere, Jayden Green, Jacquille Brown and Daytwone Burge) 1:35.33

The Spartans had several 2nd place finishers as well.  They were: Joey De la rosa (400m C), Keedan Foster (400m C), Joe Otchere (100m and 200m (A) and Sir Muhammad  (110m HH, C). 

The Spartans travel to the Cardinal relays next week, Hosted by Eisenhower High school and then to the Lockport Frosh/Soph ABC meet next Saturday.
