Spartans finish in 4th place at SPC indoor Championshhips

Saturday, March 16 2019 - SPC Indoor Championship


The Varsity Spartans traveled to Lewis University for the Minooka Invite (SPC indoor championships).  The Spartans finished in 4th place with 45 points. Leading the way for the Spartans with a record setting performance was Amiri Buchanan (Shot Put).  Amiri set the meet and school record with a winning throw of 60’3”. Kamari Rush also won one of his events, setting a new personal record in the 55m dash with a time of 6.60.  Kanmari aslo finished in 2nd place in the 200m dash with a time of 23.22 (season PR). Diego Durr finished in 2nd place in the triple jump with a season pr of 42’11”. The 4 x 200m relay finished in 5th place with a season best time of 1:34.97.  Team members were Joey De La Rosa, Keedan Foster, Kamari Rush and Kejuan Stamps. Green also finished in 5th place in the high jump(5’8”). Dotun Adelabu finished in 5th place in long jump with a career PR of 20’4” and 6th in triple jump with a 40’8” jump.

 

The frosh/soph Spartans traveled to Lewis University to compete in the Minooka (Indoor SPC Championships).  The Spartans finished in 9th place. They were led by a double event champion, Jaquille Brown. Jaquille won the long jump with a distance of 19’9” and then came back to win triple jump with a distance of 40’11.5” (Career PR).  Joel Anyan finished in 5th place in the high jump with a height of 5’4”.
